In honour of Alexander Yianni, @ethan and I are running a half-marathon — something Alex had planned to do with my dad (in true Alex style: no training, complete confidence, and absolutely would’ve smashed it).
Me? I’d only ever run two miles before this. I stopped six times. Then came a broken ankle last November, followed by a tough recovery. So yes — this is the most complex challenge I’ve ever taken on. But it’s also the most important.
We’re raising money for Man Up, a men’s mental health charity run by men, for men. They offer free anonymous therapy, activity-based support trips, and 24/7 online help — all with one goal: no man should ever struggle alone.
There are no words for the void Alex left. But we’re running to honour his memory — someone who cared deeply for others and changed lives just by being himself.
If you’d like to support us, please consider donating or sharing — every bit helps raise awareness and funds for this vital cause. Follow our journey as we remember the remarkable Alexander Yianni — a true light in all our lives.
To my Alex,
You’re part of my family, my heart, my soul. To know me is to know you. Every moment growing up with you was a blessing I’ll treasure forever. You’ll always be remembered — the legend that is Alex Yianni — through every one of us lucky enough to have known you.
Forever and always Ally x
If you’d like to run with us — any distance, any pace — or come cheer us on at the finish line, we’d love to have you there. More details coming soon.
